WIRE programs offered to this point have been primarily aimed at ranch/farm managers actively engaged in the operation. A discounted price has been offered to attract other family members, employees, management teams, etc.
A wide variety of folks have participated in the courses, including: husband/wife teams, father/son teams, whole families, corporate management teams (manager and employees), and individuals. Young managers, just getting started on a ranch/farm, seem to benefit as much as old hands who have been in business for decades. Other participants have included University students, both from within the College of Agriculture and across campus, NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service) personnel, FSA (Farm Service Agency) personnel, private lenders/loan officers, Native Americans, international students and visiting professors, Ph.D. veterinarians, Conservation District personnel, and many others.
While the course is primarily targeted to agricultural producers, nearly every participant has found something they can use. Many have even testified that they have applied the process in their personal lives outside of the agricultural business.
