and professional speaker and humorist Jolene Brown

Before and after the conference tours will provide participants the opportunity to visit and talk with people implementing interesting acreage management practices. A tour of small acreage sites is offered both before and after the conference (participants in the Monday tour will meet the bus at 2:15 at the Holiday Inn).
On Wednesday, participants have their choice of the small acreage tour or an ag small business tour (both will depart following lunch). Be sure to indicate your tour choices when registering for the conference.

Tour 1 and 2 (available Monday and Wednesday) will be the Small Acreage Tour and will visit properties that illustrate landscaping, gardening and small acreage management.

Wind River Mushrooms (Rick Wade) produces mushrooms (portabella, whites and criminis) for wholesale to food service at the rate of 60,000 pounds per week. This unique 30 employee business is the only mushroom grower in Wyoming, and the tour will show the facility, the computer-controlled operation and tell how it developed and is managed.

Son Harvest Seasons (Brian Peil) provides the opportunity for visitors to pick raspberries and pumpkins, navigate a corn maze and buy melons (cantaloupe and watermelon) direct from the farm. They also sell melons via a stand, farmers markets and through Wal-Mart. In addition they sell asparagus to a local restaurant and host school field trips. Gain perspective from the Peils on raising a diverse mix of produce, selling them through various channels and providing on-farm activities.

Raspberry deLight Farms (Greg and Jan Jarvis) raises raspberries and vegetables and produces 15 gourmet raspberry products. With a u-pick raspberries, gift boxes and products available at retail sites around Wyoming, Greg and Jan will share insights on starting up a value-added operation that extends from production to direct-to-consumer sales to wholesale sales. https://raspberrydelightfarms.com

Activities for youth pre-school and up will be provided by Audubon Wyoming Community Naturalists. Your child can participate in these fun programs while you attend sessions: Bio-Blitz Wildlife Safari, Bird Basics, Signs of Life: Tracking Animals, Audubon Adventures, Arts & Crafts, and more.
